*Then we suggest you visit the beach "Pahia Ammos" Plytra, which is Blue Flagged. The beach has fine sand and shallow waters ..It is ideal even for babies. There is a lifeguard and is organized with sun beds. You will also find a café - restaurant on the spot.
* At 17:00pm you will depart for Monemvasia. The road is good, the distance from our hotel is around 50 minutes. Monemvasia is divided into two cities, the newest along the beach and the old town, located on the rock around the walls of the Castle. It is advisable to leave your car before the bridge and catch the municipal bus that will take you outside the main gate of the castle. From there you will walk as only pedestrian move through the cobbled streets of the City. Within the medieval walls you will first see the house of the poet Yannis Ritsos. In the central alley there are several café-bar, shops with traditional local products and souvenirs, traditional guesthouses, wealthy families mansions, taverns and dozens of churches .
In the main square with the old cannon, is a listed building of the 16th century where you will find the Archaeological Set Collection of Monemvasia, the opening hours are the entrance. This is also the starting point leading to all corners of the Castle. The path to the highest point of the castle town, the "Goulas" lasts about 20 minutes, but the view will reward you. Form the highest point you will Myrtoan Sea and behind the imposing church of St. Sophia, replica of the Byzantine church of Constantinople, which is maintained in excellent condition.
After you wander through the beautiful streets of the city you will return to the main alley to enjoy a drink or dinner while gazing at the sea, under the starry summer sky. Do not forget to buy from the shops the famous macaroons of Monemvasia, the ‘samousades’ or the famous wine Malvazios Wine. For those not wishing to eat in the castle, very good choices are the taverns along the New Town or even the nearby village of Agios Ioannis, which is famous for fresh fish. Monemvasia is the only place that will satisfy those who want to have a night out and party as it features several bars-clubs, inside and outside the castle.
